Julie Andrews sings the praises of the MGH
Dame Julie Andrews — legendary award-winning British actress, singer and author — was the special guest at an intimate dinner Dec. 2 hosted by the patient-based nonprofit Institute for Laryngology and Voice Restoration (ILVR), which collaborates closely with the MGH Voice Center. Andrews joined Peter L. Slavin, MD, MGH president; Andrew Warshaw, MD, MGH surgeon-in-chief; Steven M. Zeitels, MD, director of the MGH Voice Center; Robert E. Hillman, PhD, co-director and research director of the MGH Voice Center; and Ann Prestipino, senior vice president for Surgical and Anesthesia Services and Clinical Business Development, to pay tribute to the MGH clinicians whose expertise and state-of-the-art surgical and medical care helped her following unsuccessful vocal
cord surgery at another institution. As honorary chairwoman of the ILVRÕs board of directors, Andrews is a longtime supporter of the staff of the MGH Voice Center and of the ILVR's research and educational missions to provide
innovative treatments for those who have lost their voice.
