Boy Scouts donate toys
On a frigid afternoon Dec. 17, Heather Peach, child life specialist at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC), helped to unload a truck of toys donated by Eagle Scout candidate Matthew Burke and his fellow scouts outside the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care. Weeks earlier, Burke had organized a large toy drive in his Westwood hometown to benefit the young patients at the MGHfC as part of his Eagle Scout project. The hundreds of toys, including gift cards, movies, arts and crafts, and board games, will be distributed throughout the pediatric clinics' waiting rooms and play areas.
